Birthday Kayaking

Somehow the day of my birthday (last Wednesday - sorry for the late birthday post and thank you for all the LOVELY wishes) didn't end up exactly as I had thought. My hope was to spend lots of time with the boys, but, alas, VBS Family Night was the same night and took priority along with my going out with the girls, which was okay with me.... until the end of the night when I realized how SAD I was that I did not spend my thirtieth birthday with my boys and spent literally forty-five minutes in tears over it. It turned out to be a blessing in disguise as, in order to spend time with them during my birthday week, I promptly cancelled the next two nights worth of birthday celebrations with girlfriends, thanked God for my amazing friends who understood without a doubt, and spent an amazing rest of the weekend of the family. Saturday, just Brando and I went and did one of my favorite things ever with just the two of us - kayaking.
He knows how I love kayaking.
Which I do, but generally in the same kayak as him - you know, so I can lay back and sunbathe

the whole time when necessary. This was the first time we've taken two singles out, and while I did get to explore a bit more on my own,

and while get a bit of sunbathing while still in motion in - see towed kayak pictures below, it was a LOT more work than I bargained for.

 Still, it was a blast,

even after holding my breath watching Brando jump from the bridge.
and as a result now I'm confident to go all on my own sometime :) .

3. I miss you (and therefore need to plan a girl's trip but likely we are looking at 2012 unless it is up north haha).
xoxo
