This is going to sound like a testimonial, but thanks to pedalmagic.com and their weirdest download program ever, my six year old son learned to ride a bike today! You have no idea how much this means to me and my Hubby AND my son, unless of course you have a 6 year old who has been wanting to ride for the past 3 years and can't get past the fear of falling or get the hang of balancing and is still on training wheels. That was my son this morning. This evening, after literally 5 minutes of working with him? He's riding all over the place. Best thing? Not a single fall. Oh, except when he was doing a one foot high wheelie. Yeah. He's already doing wheelies.
PS Training wheels are BAD, they don't teach the right balance. Fortunently my son, who has used them since his third birthday, picked up on the "re"training very quickly and didn't require the extra practices. If you have a kid on training wheels I recommend taking them off on a leisurely Saturday, downloading Pedal Magic, even with all the crap it gives you, and watching them ride a bike. Letting your kiddo watch the video gets them excited about riding too.

I just stopped by your site for (I think) the first time. I love it! Sounds like we have a alot in common. I used to live in Texas as well, we are both mom's and loving it, and I am not sure but do you home school? Just wanted to let you know I love your site and will be back! Congrats on the bike thing. I have a 6 year old daughter who learned last summer and it was quite a celebrated event.
so you think it would work with B5? He wants to ride a 2-wheeler so bad, but he won't let himself try for fear of falling. I'll have to check it out!! Yay for your little guy!!
Alyssa - Thanks for coming by! Glad you enjoyed it.
Yes I do homeschool - we just started! Do you? I didn't catch that on your site. What part of Texas did you live in? I do remember reading something about you being in Texas.
I couldn't believe how thrilled I was for him. I sound ridiculous on the video my Hubby made of the whole thing - I just couldn't shut up I was so proud of him!
Beth - Yes I totally do. Check your email :) .
Yes I just started home schooling this year. The school districts in Hawaii are horrible, and I just don't feel good about sending my kids to school here. What curriculum do you use? We went with the Abeka DVD series and have really enjoyed it so far. We moved to Hawaii from Wichita Falls, Tx a year and a half ago. My husband is in the Air Force. However my husband grew up in Tyler Texas (East Texas)and that is where I went to collage and where we met.
Thanks for your comments on my blog. I see you're on to Barb and Diva, too. You'd love it over here.
I lived in Hilo and in Honolulu umpteen years ago. Peace Corps.
Ciao for now-
How great Pink!! Bigtime congrats!
That is so great. What an accomplishment! I will have to remember that site. I am trying to get my three to ride their tricycles. Ah yi yi! They all want to be pushed.
I need to reach our 6 y/o to ride too but haven't tried yet. I wonder if we should try that video...
MommyD and Marcia, if they don't catch on quick the 'normal' way they will using this. I just talked to Big Guy's speech teacher in Texas and told her about it. Her 13 year old daughter doesn't know how to ride a bike and is so embarrased about it :( . I just happened to mention it because we were talking about Justin learning to ride his bike, but I am so glad I did. That will be fun to see how she learns from it!
